Embarking on a road trip with three kids (ages 10, 5, and 2) requires a special blend of preparation, patience, and a touch of spontaneity. As a seasoned road trip enthusiast and parent, I've discovered that having the right essentials can make all the difference between a smooth journey and a chaotic adventure. Let me start by saying I am a clean freak and staying organized definitely helps my anxiety. When the five of us are sitting in a car for hours I always make sure everyone's space stays comfortable. My go to for that is a small trash can that I put behind the head rests of my car. Each kid gets one to make things easier.

Ipads or tablets are must for us! when you're sitting in the car for hours entertainment is very important. These tablet holders attach to the back of the headrest as well (your headrest needs to be able to move up or down with this one but if it doesn't these ones are great too, we use them on our third row) The iPads we use are the 10.2 inch screen and they fit perfectly with these holders.

This bag is the best! I usually sick a ton of snacks in it or pack up the things that were an after thought and I think I will absolutely need (which I probably won't, but I am an over packer). It folds up really small so it doesn't take up any space when you're not using it, it also expands for more space and can slide on to your suitcase handle if you need it as a carry on.

Our 10 year old always gets the third row all to himself so my 5 year old always complains about not being able to lay down. She is notorious for sleeping in the car so I needed to get something that would support her head and making sleeping in the car a little more comfortable. This headrest has definitely done the trick.

We always bring a cooler for drinks and snacks along the way. Our 2 year old still likes his milk so we need to make sure that stays cool. This cooler is great, it fits nicely behind the drivers seat and keeps ice for over 12 hours.

I HATE having to stop unless we absolutely have to. We usually stop for bathroom breaks and to stretch our legs. If we do grab food we'll do a drive thru. I grabbed these shower caddy to hold their food so they don't have to worry about dropping anything.

The worst part about traveling with kids is car sickness and my oldest has been dealing with that his whole life. I am always prepared with Dramamine and vomit bags.
